Joan's Piano Service
Tuning, Repairs, Regulation, Consultations
About Us
I am a 27-year Denver resident and have a piano tuning and technology business in the metro area. I provide tuning, repair, and warranty services for two piano dealers and a piano moving company, as well as private tunings, repairs, and regulation. I also maintain pianos for churches, schools, and institutions. I have experience with many new piano brands and older pianos as well. My business is located mainly in the southern half of the Denver metro area, as far south as Castle Rock. I also make a few trips each year to northeastern Colorado and southeastern Nebraska to work on pianos.
I am a 2007 graduate of the two-year piano technology program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston. In the first-year Basic Piano Technology course, I learned tuning, regulation, and repair of both upright and grand pianos. In the second year, Advanced Piano Technology, I participated in the complete rebuilding of grand pianos, including pin block and soundboard replacement, stringing, bridge capping, keytop restoration, and action renovation. I had the opportunity to tune pianos for institutions such as Brandeis University and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
I offer a variety of services, including tuning, repairs, regulation (adjusting the action to compensate for wear), cleaning, and inspection of pianos for prospective purchase. A simple repair or adjustment can often be done during the time reserved for a tuning appointment, and there is usually no extra charge for this. If it is determined that more extensive work is needed, we can discuss the extra costs and make an additional appointment.
I believe that every piano deserves to sound its best. Please contact me if you have any questions about my services, or to schedule an appointment.
